Our main theatre, fully equipped for performances.

The House at Seven Dials Playhouse has the flexibility to transform into a variety of layouts;

  • In-The-Round (90-96 cap)
  • Thrust (82 cap)
  • L-Shape (74 cap)
  • Traverse (75 cap)
  • End-On (58 or 65 cap)

This space has seen sell out performances from fine new & emerging talent from the UK theatre scene including shows that have gone on to win Fringe First Awards and achieve Off-Broadway transfers.

There are up to two available slots each night in The House. We look to programme longer running shows (1-3 weeks) that can include 2 acts and an interval in the earlier timeslot. Shows in the later timeslot can be shorter runs, but must be one act only and must be able to adapt to the technical set up of the earlier show.

Submissions are open for Origin Stories!

In the first of our themed seasons, we invite artists to explore the pivotal experiences that influence who we are today and who we might become. Origin Stories is a celebration of beginnings in all their various forms. It’s about the moments that shape us, the narratives that define us, and the voices that rise up from starting something new.

We’re excited to hear your interpretations of what Origin Stories might mean to you. Whether it’s a  reflection on personal experiences, a re-imagining of a cultural myth, or a brand-new creation, we welcome any work that explores themes of identity, transformation, and new beginnings.

As always, we encourage a wide range of genres and styles—please check out our Artistic Policy for more information on what we might be looking for. And have a look at The House and The Pen to see which space might suit your work best.

We are currently taking submissions for our September to November programme. The current submission window will close on 9th May 2025.
